From March 2013, the Office of the Ombudswoman is participating in the implementation of the project “Creating Society to Tackle Discrimination”, led by one of the regional antidiscrimination contact points Censorship Plus, from Split. Project involves some of other regional contact points as well – Centre for Peace Studies, Centre for Civil Initiatives and Centre for Peace, Legal Advice and Psychosocial Help.
This project is financially supported by the EU PROGRESS Programme and it aims to raise the level of awareness on antidiscrimination regulations among specific target groups (local and regional self-government civil servants and journalists), to raise the awareness of the public on discrimination occurrences and to ensure regular information flow between the Office of the Ombudswoman and regional contact points, as well as to strengthen this cooperation.
Within the scope of the project a promotional antidiscrimination TV spot was produced as well as TV and radio shows with interviewees dealing with various problems in Croatian society related to unequal treatment. Different promotional giveaways were also produced and distributed to citizens and various target groups.
