On 30 October 2023, the Ombudswoman of Croatia, in cooperation with the Chair of Constitutional Law and the Chair of Theory of Law and State at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, held a lecture focusing on the key role of the Ombudswoman’s institution in the protection of the rule of law. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Sanja Barić, head of the aforementioned chairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Matija Miloš.

The main goal of the lecture was to present the European Commission’s 2023 Rule of Law Report, the rule of law system in the Republic of Croatia, and to highlight the roles of the Ombudswoman in preserving the rule of law in the country. The lecture, intended for first-year law students, was delivered by the Deputy Ombudswomen, Dijana Kesonja and Tatjana Vlašić.

The lecture was organized as part of a regional project implemented by the Office of the Ombudswoman in cooperation with the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), funded through the “EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation.”
