On Friday, 12 July 2024, the Croatian Parliament unanimously appointed Sedina Dubravčić as Deputy Ombudswoman for a term of eight years.
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Rijeka, Sedina Dubravčić began her career at the Tax Administration of the Ministry of Finance. She continued in leadership positions at the Ministry of Justice and, since 2021, has been working as a legal advisor to the Ombudswoman in the Whistleblower Protection Service.
She has been a member of several expert working groups and has participated in the organization and implementation of numerous international seminars and high-level conferences in the field of anti-corruption, including events held during Croatia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2020. She has also conducted trainings on whistleblower protection for designated confidential persons.
According to the Ombudsman Act, the Ombudswoman has at least three deputies. In addition to the newly appointed deputy, the position is currently held by Dijana Kesonja, Saša Rajić, and Tatjana Vlašić.
