Deputy Ombudswoman Tatjana Vla\u0161i\u0107 participated in a conference marking the 75th anniversary of the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, organised by the Croatian Law Centre on 10 September 2026.<\/p>\n
The event also featured a panel discussion on the international protection system in Croatia, the development of asylum procedures, access to rights for asylum seekers, and ways to support their successful inclusion in society.<\/p>\n
Deputy Ombudswoman Vla\u0161i\u0107 spoke about the role of the Ombudswoman institution in the field of migration and the protection of the rights of applicants for international protection, as well as the challenges related to their integration. The discussion also brought together representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Administrative Court, the City of Zagreb, the Croatian Red Cross, the Croatian Law Centre, the Centre for Peace Studies, the Jesuit Refugee Service and the Centre for the Culture of Dialogue.<\/p>\n
The conference aimed to highlight the Convention as one of the cornerstones of international law and the international refugee protection system, as well as to encourage discussion on the further development and strengthening of the international protection system in the Republic of Croatia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
