The key issues faced by older persons in Croatia, how they can seek assistance from the institution of the Ombudswoman, as well as her mandates, powers and methods of operation, were the focus of a presentation delivered by the Deputy Ombudswoman Tatjana Vla\u0161i\u0107 and the Ombudswoman\u2019s Advisor Orhideja Skale Dru\u017eak to the participants of the Legal Counseling Center of the Retired Persons\u2019 Trade Union of Croatia (SUH), held on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, in the Trogir City Hall.<\/p>\n
As part of the event, SUH representatives also provided participants with updateson developments in the social welfare and pension insurance systems, lifelong support agreements, support until death agreements, the procedure for drafting a will, gift agreements, and the national benefit for older persons. All interested attendees were also able to receive answers to a range of specific questions.<\/p>\n
The lecture was delivered as part of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration\u2019s project \u201cLegal sdvice for older persons \u2013 pushing boundaries\u201d, aimed at helping older persons who struggle to navigate the legal system, and for whom access to information and free legal aid is key to realizing and protecting their rights.<\/p>\n
