JURICA MALČIĆ,
Ombudsman
Born on 1st of August 1942. in Zagreb. He finished Grammar School and graduated on Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb. Married, lives in Zagreb.
From 1972.-1974. he worked as the independent administrative referent and advisor in Center for social work of the City of Zagreb, from the year 1975.- 1982. as the advisor and general secretary of the Executive Board of the Assembly of municipality Maksimir. From 1982. -1991. he was chief of the Department and deputy of Municipal Secretary for Administration and Justice.
Since the begining of 1991. until April 1992. he was the advisor at the Office of the President of the Republic and deputy of the Head of the Office. From April 1992. he performed his duty as the vice minister in Ministry of Justice and Administration, on the 1st of September he was appointed as Secretary of the State of the Republic of Croatia and reelected on the same duty on 9 th of April 1993.
From 1st of June 1993. until 10th of July 1994. he was member of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of the Ministry of the Administration. From June 11th 1994. until 11th July 2002. he was performing his duty as judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia. During that period he performed his duty as the vice president of the Constitutional Court ( 1998. and 2000.)
He was elected as the Ombudsman by the Croatian Parliament on 30 November 2004.
He published several works in the field of human rights, administration and local self government. He is the author and colaborator of the research and legal projects in different fields.
In December 2004 he was elected as an Ombudsman.
